Here's a tasty, lower fat recipe to serve in a jiffy.
1/2 cup water
3 tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
2 teaspoons oil
1 lb. boneless top round steak, cut into 2x1/4-inch strips
1 lg. asparagus, cut into 1-inch pieces, or 9-oz. pkg. Green Giant@ Harvest
Fresh@ Frozen Asparagus Cuts, partially thawed
1 (8-oz.) can sliced water chestnuts, drained
1/2 cup sliced green onions
2 cups hot cooked rice
In small bowl, combine water, soy sauce, cornstarch and garlic powder; blend
well. Set aside.
In large skillet or wok, heat oil over medium-high heat until hot. Add steak
strips, asparagus, water chestnuts and onions; cook and stir 4 to 6 minutes or
until meat is cooked to desired doneness and vegetables are crisp-tender. Stir
in cornstarch mixture; cook and stir 1 to 3 minutes or until thickened and
glossy. Serve immediately over hot cooked rice.
4 (1 1/4-cup) servings
