Roast Beef with Bourbon Sauce
Ingredients:
5-pound beef rib roast
1/2 cup bourbon
1 teaspoon ginger
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons vinegar
3 tablespoons molasses
1/2 cup orange juice
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 large onion, chopped
1/4 cup flour
1/2 cup water
Method:
In a large bowl, or glass dish combine the bourbon, ginger, soy sauce,
Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, molasses, orange juice, garlic, and onion;
mix well, and add the beef.
Chill this for 4-5 hours, turning the beef quite often.
Remove the beef to a rack placed in a large foil lined roaster.
keep the marinade for the bourbon sauce.
Bake the meat 2 1/2 hours for medium rare or to your desired doneness.
Take 1/2 cup of the beef drippings, and place in a medium saucepan, blend in the
flour.
Over a low heat add the remaining bourbon mixture, and water, stir constantly
until thickened.
Serve the sauce over the sliced roast beef.
