Banana Stuffed French Toast
Ingredients:
1 loaf bakery style white bread
5 bananas
3/4 cup walnuts or pecans
1 tablespoon Vanilla
1/2 cup maple syrup
1/2 cup brown sugar
10 eggs
3/4 cup milk
cinnamon
Method:
Grease 9 x 12 baking dish Slice 5 thick slices of bread and cube. Layer on
bottom of pan. Chop bananas fine, but chunky, don't puree, Chop nuts Layer
bananas and nuts over bread. Mix brown sugar, vanilla and maple syrup, pour over
bananas. Slice remaining bread into cubes and layer over rest of bananas Mix
eggs, milk.
Pour mixture over bread. If it looks too dry, add 1/4 cup milk and 1 egg
Sprinkle with cinnamon If you have time, cover with foil and refrigerate
overnight. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour covered and 30 minutes uncovered Serve
with warm maple syrup, powdered sugar and whipped cream.
