Colonial Maple-Nut
Cake Recipe

Colonial Maple-Nut Cake
1 pkg white cake mix
3 eggs
1/3 cup oil
1 cup water
2 tsp maple flavoring
1/2 cup walnuts or pecans ( chopped )
Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
2 Tbsp butter or margarine
2 Tbsp milk
1/4 tsp maple flavoring
Heat oven to 350
Grease & flour 12 cup fluted tube pan
In large bowl blend first 5 ingredients until moistened
Beat 2 minutes at highest speed
Fold in chopped nuts. Pour into pan
Bake 40-50 minutes or until tests done.
Cool upright in pan for 25 minutes
Turn onto serving plate. Cool completely
Blend glaze ingredients in small bowl until smooth. If needed add a few more
drops of milk to make a glaze consistency. Spoon over cooled cake
Garnish with chopped nuts if desired
