Chocolate Sundae Cake
Butter a 9 inch-square baking pan and dust with cocoa powder
SAUCE
1 cup sugar
4 Tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. cornstarch
1/4 cup milk
2 Tbsp. butter
Mix the sugar, cocoa and cornstarch together
Stir in milk, cook and stir until hot and smooth
Add the butter, mix well
Pour the sauce into prepared pan.
BATTER
2 cups sifted flour
2-1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 teas salt
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup soft butter
1 teas vanilla extract
1 cup milk
1 egg
2 ounce semisweet chocolate
Sift flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar into a mixing bowl. Add butter,
vanilla, egg and milk. Stir in the melted chocolate and beat all for 2 minutes.
Pour the batter into pan, over the sauce. Bake at 350 for 30 to 45 minutes or
until cake tests done.
Cut into squares and top with whipped cream
