Orange Jewel Cake

Ingredients :
1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
2 tsp. grated orange rind
4 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 cup buttermilk
3 1/2 cups sifted flour
2 cups chopped nuts
1 pound candy orange slices, chopped or sliced
1/2 pounds chopped dates
1 cup flaked coconut
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 300 F
Cream butter/sugar in bowl - add orange rind.
Add eggs one at a time. Beat well after each.
Dissolve soda in buttermilk and add alternately with flour.
Add nuts, candy orange slices, dates, coconut. Mix well.
Pour batter in greased bundt cake pan. Bake for 1/1/2 hours.
Once cake is removed from bundt pan, drizzle glaze over top.
Preparation:
Orange Juice
2 cups confectioners sugar, 10X
2 tsp. grated orange rind
Mix dry ingredients well with enough orange juice to make a smooth glaze.
