Coffee Icebox Cake Recipe


Coffee Icebox Cake            


Ingredients:
1/4 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. cornstarch
1 1/2 c. hot milk
4 egg whites, beaten
whip cream
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. coffee grounds
4 egg yolks, beaten
ladyfingers
grated chocolate
 

Directions:
Pour hot milk over coffee grounds. Let stand 10 minutes and strain. Mix cornstarch, salt and sugar. Add beaten egg yolks. Add coffee mixture gradually. Stir well and cook in double boiler until thick and smooth. Fold in beaten egg whites. Line springform pan with ladyfingers. Pour 1/2 mixture in cake pan. Put a layer of ladyfingers. Pour the other 1/2 of mixture.Top with whip cream. Sprinkle with grated chocolate.
