Walnut Icebox Cake Recipe


Walnut Icebox Cake            


Ingredients:
½ cup butter
1 beaten egg
1 t. vanilla
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup walnuts, chopped
Graham crackers
 

Directions:
Line an ungreased 8x8 pan with whole graham crackers. In a heavy saucepan melt butter; add sugar and beaten egg, stir well. Cook until it bubbles, then cook it 1 minutes more, add nuts and vanilla. Spread at once over graham crackers, top with another layer of whole graham crackers, frost with powdered sugar icing. Store in refrigerator.

Powdered sugar icing:
2 cups powdered sugar (sifted)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons milk

Mix the powdered sugar with the vanilla and milk. Then add more milk a bit at a time until it’s the proper spreading consistency.
