Cinnamon Candy
Ingredients:
3 3/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. white Karo syrup
1 c. water
1 box powdered sugar
1 dram cinnamon oil (purchased
from pharmacy)
red food coloring
Directions:
Mix sugar, Karo syrup and water very well. Cook until candy thermometer reaches
290 degrees and spins a hard thread. Remove from heat and add red food coloring
and cinnamon oil, stirring until well mixed.
While candy is cooking, pour powdered sugar (about 1/4-inch thick) on 3 cookie
sheets. Make rivers in powdered sugar with fingers. Pour candy into rivers, cool
and break.
Note: Candy placed in glass jars tied with a red ribbon, hearts or other
decorations make beautiful gifts at Valentine's Day or Christmas.
