Jell-o Cookies Recipe


Jell-o Cookies

1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup shortening
1 (3 oz.) pkg. fruit flavored jell-o
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt

Mix first five ingredients. Then blend remaining dry ingredients. Roll into 1 inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Stamp with cookie stamp. Bake 6 to 8 minutes at 400 degrees.

Basic preparation:

Season your new cookie stamps before using by brushing them with cooking oil. A tooth brush is the ideal tool to clean the cookie stamp. Never season your stamps with butter! Each time before mixing a batch of dough, wipe the stamp again with cooking oil. This helps prevent sticking. Keep your stamps warm while you are using them. This also helps prevent sticking and clogging. When finished, clean the face of your cookie stamps with not water and a soft brush. let dry.

Avoid recipes that contain baking powder or baking soda as the design becomes less distinct when the cookie rises.
