Chocolate Butter Nut Pie Shell
This is a recipe of my Mom's she use to make it at Christmas time.
Ingredients:
2 Cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
1/4 Cup Butter
1/4 Cup Cream or Canned Milk
1 1/2 Cups Walnuts
Method:
Combine the chocolate , butter , and cream in the top of a double boiler, and
stir over boiling water until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is well
blended. Remove from the heat, add the nuts, and cover the sides and bottom of a
9 inch pie plate. Allow the mixture to harden and fill with any Christmas ice
cream or any precooked pie filling.
Serves 6-8
Variations
One and one-half cups coconut, rice krispies, or chopped nut meats may be
substituted for the walnuts.
At Christmas we use rice krispies and fill the pie shell with Dryers peppermint
ice cream and drizzle a little chocolate on top to make it look pretty.
