Cappuccino Truffle Bars
1/2 C. butter
1 1/4 C semisweet chocolate chips
3/4 C packed brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp almond extract
1/2 tsp baking powder
3/4 C. flour
1 C. semisweet chocolate chips
1 pkg. ( 8oz )cream cheese, softened
1/4 C. powdered sugar
1 tsp. instant coffee crystals
1 T water
1/3 C. semisweet chocolate chips
1 tsp. butter
1/2 tsp. Godiva chocolate liqueur
chocolate covered almonds
Melt butter and chocolate in microwave safe bowl stirring at 30 second
intervals. When completely melted, set aside and let cool slightly.
In a bowl, beat eggs and brown sugar together, then add melted chocolate and
extract and mix well.
Combine baking powder, cinnamon, and flour together and then stir into chocolate
Spread into a greased 9 inch square baking pan. Bake at 350º for 30-35 minutes.
For filling, beat cream cheese until fluffy and add powdered sugar.
Dissolve coffee crystals in hot water. Melt chocolate, then add coffee and cream
cheese mixture and blend well. Spread over cooled brownies.
For glaze, melt chocolate and butter. Stir in liqueur.
Dip whole almonds in glaze first, then drizzle over bars. Arrange almonds on
each bar. Chill before cutting.
