1/3 cup shortening
2/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 1/3 cups drained crushed pineapple
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups sifted all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup chopped nuts
Add sugar gradually to shortening, beating till fluffy. Add egg. Stir soda into
pineapple; add to egg mixture. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt;
blend into mixture. Add nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 F for 12 to 15 minutes.
