Caramel Dumplings in Sauce Recipe


Caramel Dumplings in Sauce       
From The Lion House Pantry

Carmel Sauce:
3/4 cup sugar
2 cup hot water
3/4 cup sugar
2 Tbsp butter
1/8 tsp salt



Caramelize 3/4 cup sugar in heavy skillet.
When golden add remaining ingredients.
Cook until smooth.

Dumplings:
2 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
5 Tbsp shorting
1/4 tsp salt
~(2 cups Bisquick can be used in place of above ingredients)
3/4 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla


Mix dough.
Drop by tablespoon into hot caramel sauce.
Leave space between dumplings.
Cook on medium heat 30 minutes with lid on.
Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
