Marble Frosting
Ingredients:
1½ cups sugar
5 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon white corn syrup
2 egg whites
¼ teaspoon peppermint extract
1 oz. bitter chocolate
Directions:
Combine all ingredients except peppermint and chocolate in top of double boiler
and mix well. Stir over hot water until sugar is dissolved.
Beat with rotary beater over boiling water until frosting is fluffy and will
hold its shape. Add flavoring and blend well.
Spread frosting over top and sides of cake. Melt chocolate and pour across cake
in ¼ inch strips about an inch apart. Then draw a knife across the strips at 1
inch intervals.
