1/2 cup butter (no substitutes)
2 ounces unsweetened chocolate
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup almond brickle pieces
1/2 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
Cook and stir butter and chocolate in a medium saucepan over LOW heat until
melted. Remove from heat. Beat in sugar, eggs and vanilla extract with a wooden
spoon until combined. Do not overmix. Stir in flour.
Spread batter into a greased 8-inch square baking pan. Sprinkle with almond
brickle and chocolate pieces. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes. Cool.
Makes 16 bars.
