Chocolate Chunk Cookies

2 sticks (1 cup) butter, softened
1/2 cup each granulated sugar and packed light-brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups semisweet chocolate chunks
Heat oven to 350º.
Beat all ingredients except flour and chocolate chunks in a large bowl with
mixer on medium speed 3 to 4 minutes until fluffy. On low speed, gradually add
flour; beat just to blend. Stir in chocolate.
Drop heaping tablespoons 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes until browned at edges. Cool on sheet on a wire rack 2
minutes before removing to rack to cool completely.
Makes 30 cookies.
