1 1/4 cups butter
3/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
3 cups Quaker Oats
Heat oven to 375 degrees F.
Beat together butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla
Combine flour, baking soda and salt, then add to butter mixture; mix well. Stir
in oats. Drop by rounded teaspoons onto UNGREASED cookie sheet. Bake 8-9
minutes. You may add 1 cup of raisins if desired.
Makes 4 1/2 dozen.
