3/4 pound brussel sprouts
2 tablespoons chopped onion
3 slices bacon -- diced
1/4 teaspoon minced garlic
salt & pepper to taste
olive oil or butter -- if needed
Rinse the sprouts, peel off outer leaves & cut in half. In a skillet,fry the bacon, onion & garlic until the bacon starts to crisp. Add the brussel sprouts, season with S&P, cover & let braise on low heat for about 20 minutes or until desired doneness is reached.If the pan drys out add butter or oil or a few drops of water.
Per serving:7.4 carbs and 3.3 grams fiber = 4.1 carbs. Carb count for whole recipe is:29.5 minus 13.3 grams fiber.**If you want to make more servings divide them into this total.
