Black Bottom Pie Recipe


Black Bottom Pie

1 cup honey graham cracker crumbs (about 16 squares)

3 tablespoons sugar
2/3 cup butter or margarine, divided
4 squares (1 ounce each) semi-sweet baking chocolate
1 package (4-serving size) JELL-O Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding & Pie Filling
2 cups cold milk
Whipped topping and chocolate curls, optional


In a bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, sugar and 1/3 cup melted butter. Press on bottom and side of 9-in. pie plate; set aside. In a small saucepan, heat remaining butter and chocolate, stirring until smooth. Spread on bottom of prepared crust; set aside. Prepare pudding according to package directions using milk. Spread into prepared crust. Refrigerate at least 1 hour. Garnish with whipped topping and chocolate curls if desired. Yield: 8 servings
