Mexican Apple Pie

1-1/2 cups sugar
2 cups water
1/2 cup butter or margarine -- melted
4 cups Golden Delicious apples -- peeled and chopped
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
10 flour tortillas -- 6"
Whipped cream
Ground cinnamon
Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan; cook over medium heat, stirring
constantly, until sugar melts. Set aside. Place butter in a 13- x 9- x 2-inch
baking dish; set aside. Combine apples and 2 teaspoons cinnamon, stirring to
coat. Place about 1/2 cup apple mixture down center of each tortilla. Roll up,
and place, seam side down, in baking dish. Pour sugar mixture over top of
tortillas, and cover with aluminum foil. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 30 minutes.
Uncover and bake 25 to 30 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes. Serve warm with whipped
cream; sprinkle with additional cinnamon, if desired.
Yield: 10 servings.
