Apple Kraut Stuffed Spareribs                

1/4 c. chopped onion
1/4 c. butter, melted
4 c. (1/2-inch) soft bread cubes
2 c. sauerkraut
1 c. apple, diced
1 tsp. caraway seed
2 sections spareribs (about 3 lb.)

Cook onion in melted butter until soft. Combine bread cubes, sauerkraut, apple and caraway seed. Toss onion and butter with bread mixture. Season sparerib section with salt and pepper. Spread stuffing over one section in shallow pan. Cover with second section. Fasten with skewers. Roast at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.

Serves 4.
