Beer Baked Whole Ham
1 bone in ham
Cloves
1/2 cup dry mustard
1 cup brown sugar
Water
12 bay leaves
1 - 2 cans of beer
Remove most of the fat from the ham, then score the entire surface of the ham.
Stick cloves over the entire surface of the ham, using the cloves generously.
Next, mix a paste of 1/2 cup of dry mustard, 1 cup of brown sugar and enough
water to bring the paste of the consistency of ordinary prepared mustard. Smear
the mustard paste over the outside surface of the ham and fasten a dozen small
bay leaves to the ham with toothpicks. Place ham in a roaster, pour in 1 -2 cans
of beer, cover and cook in a 350-degree oven for about 20 minutes per pound of
ham.
