Layered Jello-Pear Salad Recipe

Layered Jello-Pear Salad        


16 oz. canned pear halves
3 oz. package lime Jello-O
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup boiling water
1 tablespoon lemon juice
6 ounces whipped cream cheese


Drain pears and reserve 3/4 cup juice. Dice pears.

Dissolve Jell-O and salt in boiling water. Add pear juice and lemon juice.
Measure 1 1/4 cups of mixture into an 8x4 inch loaf pan. Chill until set,
about 1 hour.

Blend remaining Jell-O mixture into into cream cheese and beat until smooth.
Add diced pears. Spoon over chilled Jell-O mixture. Chill about 4 hours or
until firm. Unmold and serve with mayonnaise, if desired.

Makes 3-1/2 cups, about 6 servings.
