Best Ever Lemon Scones

3 cups flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/3 cup sugar
Zest of 1 lemon
3/4 cup butter
1 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup raisins, dried cranberries or dried cherries
Cut together the butter, sugar, flour, baking powder and lemon zest.
Add the buttermilk and fruit.
Mix together then turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently a few
Press dough into a 9" floured cake pan, take out and cut into 12 wedges.
Place wedges on parchment paper lined baking sheets.
Bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
When cool glaze with powdered sugar and lemon icing. Serve with Devonshsire
cream, creme fraiche or jam.
