Inge's Onion Bake

3 large Vidallia onions cut in half; slice not too thin
(it will get mushy) and remove core of the onion
8 oz to 1 lb. mushrooms (fresh) sliced
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 small can evaporated milk
1 Tbs. soy sauce
8 oz shredded Swiss cheese or more if you like
Slices of French Bread (1 large loaf)

Saute of the onion and fresh mushrooms at a time just until soft do not over cook.
Mix together can of mushroom soup, milk and soy sauce
Place in casserole of the onion mixture then of the soup mixture then the other of the onion mixture. Top with of the cheese (4 oz.)
Top with slices of French bread
Top with other of soup mixture
Top with rest of cheese

**** Make this the day before Bake the day needed
Cover and bake @ 325 for 30 minutes; uncover and bake 15 more minutes
