Inge's Onion Bake

Ingredients:
3 large Vidallia onions cut in half; slice not too thin
(it will get mushy) and remove core of the onion
8 oz to 1 lb. mushrooms (fresh) sliced
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 small can evaporated milk
1 Tbs. soy sauce
8 oz shredded Swiss cheese or more if you like
Slices of French Bread (1 large loaf)

Method:
Saute ½ of the onion and fresh mushrooms at a time just until soft do not over cook.
Mix together can of mushroom soup, milk and soy sauce
Place in casserole ½ of the onion mixture then ½ of the soup mixture then the other ½ of the onion mixture. Top with ½ of the cheese (4 oz.)
Top with slices of French bread
Top with other ½ of soup mixture
Top with rest of cheese

**** Make this the day before Bake the day needed
Cover and bake @ 325 for 30 minutes; uncover and bake 15 more minutes
