Ingredients: 1/3 c Flour 2/3 c Corn meal 1 c Milk 2 c Yellow squash, grated 1 Onion, grated 1 Egg 2 tb Bacon grease 1/2 ts Black pepper 1/2 ts Salt Method: Mix vegetables, milk, egg, oil and salt until the egg is completely blended with the other ingredients. In a separate bowl mix flour, corn meal and black pepper. Add the flour mixture to the milk and vegetable mixture while stirring. Continue until no lumps are present. Fry on medium-high in an iron skillet until crispy brown on both sides. Yield: 6 Servings |
