Chyrel's Recipes From Friends
Plum Sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil
1-3/4 cups sliced red onions
1/2 cup canned crushed pineapple
1/2 teaspoon dried crushed mild chili peppers
3/4 cup diced prunes
2-1/2 cups apple cider
3 tablespoons canned tomato paste
1 cup canned tomato sauce
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
2-1/4 teaspoons salt
1/2 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon black pepper

In a large saucepan, heat the oil and sauté the onions for 3 - 5 minutes or until translucent. Add the pineapple and chili peppers and continue to sauté on low heat. Meanwhile, in a blender or food processor, blend together the prunes, cider, and tomato paste. Add the prune mixture to the onion mixture and mix together well. Stir in the tomato sauce, vinegar, salt, lemon juice, and black pepper and simmer for 10 minutes. Serve.
