Chocolate Raspberry Dessert
This is a real heavy raspberry dessert.
Make a devil's food or Swiss chocolate cake like box directions
but SUBSTITUTE 1 STICK OF BUTTER FOR THE VEGETABLE OIL.
Put in a 9" X 13" pan and do not overbake. Let cool to room temperature.
Remove all hard crust from edges.
In a double boiler, melt a 12 oz. bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips.
Add 16 oz. heavy whipping cream and cool to room temperature.
Crumble cake in a large bowl and add 1/2 of the chocolate mixture and mix well with your hands.
Put into mold or springform pan, pressing in firm. Refrigerate for at least two hours.
Take out of mold and drizzle the rest of the chocolate mixture on it.
Decorate with red raspberries or strawberries cut in half. Slice in thin slices.
Add whipped cream if you want.
My daughter-in-law got this recipe from a friend whose husband is a chef in Chicago.
